Jesus said that anyone who was faithful in the little things (meaning money) would prove to be faithful in the big things (spiritual life). Every Koinonia School is committed to careful stewardship of the resources God has entrusted to us. To ensure financial integrity, our budgets are balanced and our books are audited every year. Our administrative overhead is low so that we can maximize the educational impact of every dollar.
We are blessed to live in a province that provides substantial support to private schools, but this support amounts to approximately 35% of what a public school receives. Because our schools operate with great efficiency, and our staff serves sacrificially, we are able to operate our schools at a much lower cost than a public school. Still, tuition is needed to fill the gap between what the government provides and what it costs to provide a quality Christian education. There are several payment plans available: 12 month, 10 month, bi-annual, and annual. A discount is provided to families who can pay tuition in annually or bi-annually because this helps the school in terms of cash flow. However, most families choose one of the monthly payment plans. All plans begin on July 1. Limited Financial Aid is available to assist families facing temporary financial difficulties.
The school holds two fundraising activities throughout the year. These activities not only raise money to support various school activities, but also raise public awareness of the school's ministry. We believe that every family should accept responsibility for supporting the school, but we also appreciate that each family has unique skills and interest. As a result we take a flexible approach to fundraising: Each family may choose to participate in as many or as few of the activities as they wish, but must raise or donate at least $300 per year as their part in the effort.
